Cosmopolitan Recipe featuring Hibicsus Rosehip Simple Syrup

Full disclosure: the Cosmopolitan and I have a history. As a college student in the late 90’s who watched Sex and the City, a Cosmopolitan was my drink of choice. In those days, I was usually drinking cosmopolitans out of a plastic cup at my college dive bar. (I wasn’t very picky. Or very classy.) When my friends and I were feeling fancy, we would go to the restaurant in town that served them in a martini glass.

When I was behind the bar, I was determined to make the best cosmopolitan. And on the occasion when a customer would request that I make their cosmo, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride.

So, yeah, the cosmopolitan and I have a history. But this updated recipe is about the future. We kept the classic ingredient Absolut Citron as the star of the show but used our Hibiscus Rosehip Simple Syrup instead of the cranberry juice. The syrup is tart, sweet, and beautifully compliments the vodka.


NGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE A HIBISCUS ROSEHIP COSMOPOLITAN


HOW TO MAKE A COSMOPOLITAN WITH HIBISCUS ROSEHIP SYRUP 

In your ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine: vodka, lime juice, Cointreau, Hibiscus Rosehip Simple Syrup.

Shake for about 30 seconds, until you hear the ice cracking.

Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with orange twist.
