Full disclosure: I have some history with the Cosmopolitan. As a college student in the late 90’s who watched Sex and the City, the Cosmo was my drink of choice. In those days, I was usually drinking them out of a plastic cup at my college dive bar.
(I wasn’t very picky. Or very classy.)
When my friends and I were feeling fancy, we would go to the restaurant in town that served them in a martini glass.
Hibiscus Rosehip Cosmopolitan
We kept the Absolut Citron but used our Hibiscus Rosehip Syrup instead of the cranberry juice. The syrup is tart, sweet, and beautifully compliments the citrusy vodka.
- 2 oz Absolut Citron vodka
- 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 3/4 oz Cointreau
- 1/2 oz Social Mixers Hibiscus Rosehip Syrup
In a shaker combine: vodka, lime juice, Cointreau, Hibiscus Rosehip Syrup.
Add ice to shaker.
Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
Double strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with orange twist.
